Training

We are a competitive UKFL flyball team who train and race regularly throughout the year. We train every Wednesday evening and Saturday afternoon, for about 4 hours, and then once a month, on a Saturday for a further 4 hours.

We currently race, and train, indoors on TuffSpun matting, giving the dogs a consistent surface all year round. We hire a barn, just outside Chatteris, which is fully set up for an indoor flyball ring, with two lanes entirely matted with TuffSpun, set up at 12 foot centres (min width), and with approximately 70 foot runback. We also own two sets of competition spec electronic judging systems, as well as 2 sets of training lights.

All our training is tailored specifically to what each dog or handler needs, be that box work, stride work, “super-manning”, confidence or crossovers.

We have a purpose designed and built training chute which can be altered to difference angles, allowing us to build the dogs up slowly over time during box work training.
As well as owning two sets of competition-ready lights we also have 2 sets of training lights, allowing us to practice start sequences and record individual and team times regularly without setting up the main lights.
